Kiné, the Lioness

Project in development · Drama · Sport · Inspired by social realities

From a violent marriage to boxing rings across Africa: the fight of a woman who refuses to lose twice.

Synopsis

At 25, Kiné dreams of a film career and a life of freedom. Her marriage to Mansour, an authoritarian and violent man, turns her daily life into hell. After another assault, she leaves him with her daughter and rebuilds her life.

Chance leads her to a boxing gym. Spotted by Joseph Mathias, an international coach with a painful past, she proves to be an extraordinary fighter, rising from Senegalese champion to African champion and then world-title contender.

Unable to accept her success, Mansour tries to destroy her career through legal action, sabotage, an attack that leaves her between life and death, and finally broken fingers intended to stop her boxing forever. Driven by courage, her mentor and her daughter's love, Kiné rises again to reach the summit of world boxing.

An inspiring sports drama about resilience and emancipation, where every punch thrown in the ring becomes a victory over the past.
